Sunset Sushi Sunny Isles Beach: A Culinary Extravaganza Above the Waves

By Brosda and Bentley Realtors

Miami’s culinary landscape is set to experience a remarkable addition this spring as the acclaimed sushi master, David Bouhadana, brings his expertise to the historic Newport Pier in Sunny Isles Beach. Known as the force behind Sushi By Bou, Bouhadana has earned the title of “the most aggressively cool sushi chef in New York City,” and now he is set to showcase his skills at Sunset Sushi Miami, a pop-up sushi counter located on the iconic fishing pier behind the upcoming boutique hotel, The Sunny in Sunny Isles Beach.

Commencing on Friday, February 16, Sunset Sushi promises a distinctive dining experience atop the historic pier, offering a diverse food and beverage program that will eventually feature six restaurants at The Sunny. The concept, which already boasts a highly-rated location in Boca Raton, stands as the sole restaurant in Miami-Dade positioned above the water on a fishing pier and marks the introduction of omakase to the tranquil surroundings of Sunny Isles.

Beyond its exclusive location, Sunset Sushi offers a captivating culinary journey overseen by the skilled hands of Bouhadana. The experience begins with a leisurely stroll along the historic fishing pier, creating a unique prelude to one of three nightly seatings at 5, 7, and 9 pm. Guests can anticipate indulging in a traditional chef’s choice tasting menu, presenting a more relaxed and approachable atmosphere against the backdrop of the waterfront. Priced at $160, the 15 to 17-course omakase adventure showcases fish flown in daily from Tokyo’s renowned Toyosu Market, ensuring a genuine and authentic taste of Japanese cuisine. The entire meal unfolds over approximately two hours, offering patrons a comprehensive and immersive dining experience. For those desiring flexibility, a la carte items and beverages are available at an additional cost.

To secure a coveted spot at Sunset Sushi, reservations can be conveniently made online via Resy. The booking window opens from Tuesday through Saturday starting February 16, providing an opportunity for both locals and visitors to savor this exceptional dining experience. Notably, reservations for groups of eight or more are considered fully private, while smaller parties of fewer than eight can relish a semi-private setting.

Situated at 16501 Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach, the Sunset Sushi Miami pop-up promises to be a culinary destination, elevating Miami’s dining scene with its combination of a historic setting, renowned chef, and an immersive omakase experience. As the city anticipates the arrival of this gastronomic gem, it undoubtedly adds another layer of sophistication and diversity to Miami’s vibrant culinary scene.
